For the sleeveless version, choose a fabric with a nice drape, as it doesn’t need to be as “crispy” as for the raglan sleeve version (since the puffy sleeves need to hold their shape). Examples include double gauze, lightweight twill...

Intermediate.
The Zoe dress is not difficult to sew: it’s a slip-on dress with a back-tie closure system, meaning no zippers, no buttons, and no lining. The puffy sleeves require some concentration but are not overly technical to sew. The sleeveless version involves sewing bias-bound edges at the armholes, but it’s easier than it sounds.
The real challenge lies in handling the fabric (between 3 and 4 meters depending on the size!) and gathering the long sections. Start this project with a full tank of patience.
