Unlike annual wildflowers, which need full sun to thrive, perennials take time to establish, and you should not expect blooms in the first year. Some species will flower in year 2, while others may take 3–4 years to mature before producing their first flowers. Patience is rewarded, however, with a sustainable, self-renewing wildflower area that will return year after year.

This mix is beautifully complemented by native wildflower bulbs such as snowdrops and bluebells, which provide the earliest colour and interest in spring, as well as valuable food sources for early pollinators.
